The authors and journal have appropriately addressed the duplicated SMC1 label in Figure 1 by replacing one occurrence with SMC3. However, a related inconsistency appears to remain in the Figure 1 caption. The caption states that STAG1 and STAG2 localise to kinetochores, whereas the figure and accompanying text distinguish the preferential roles of STAG1-containing cohesin in telomeric cohesion and STAG2-containing cohesin in centromeric/kinetochore function. Could the authors clarify the intended meaning of this statement and explain how the localization of both STAG1 and STAG2 to kinetochores is supported by the cited literature?
