The main experiment on fertilization approaches used 4-year-old ‘Succari’ sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) on trifoliate orange rootstock, whereas the fertilizer reduction experiment (Section 4.3) used 3-year-old ‘Jiuxiangzao’ Satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu) – a different species, scion, rootstock, age, and growing system (barrels vs. plastic pots). How can you possibly conclude that “60% fertilizer reduction is possible in citrus production” based on data from a different cultivar grown under different conditions? This is a classic case of false extrapolation. No statistical bridge or validation experiment links the two systems. The reduction claim is therefore unsupported and potentially misleading.
