While the findings are compelling, the small and heterogeneous sample size (nine CP and nine control patients) raises concerns about the generalizability of the results. The study mentions sufficient statistical power (>0.8), but the variability introduced by differences in age, sex, and disease severity may influence the observed molecular and cellular phenomena. Could the authors elaborate on how they accounted for potential confounding factors arising from this variability? Additionally, was any subgroup analysis performed to determine whether these factors influenced the expression or localization of circNFIX and MEF2C?
