I have a major hang-up that makes it hard to fully trust their big conclusion!! you know, the one where they say their method definitely works better than traditional teaching.
They only tested it on 30 students.
That’s it. Just 30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group. For a study that’s trying to make a claim about “Thai undergraduate students” as a whole, that’s an incredibly small number. It feels like trying to understand the taste of a whole pot of soup by just tasting a single spoonful.
With such a tiny sample, it’s hard to know if the positive results were because their model is genuinely great, or if they just got lucky with a particularly motivated or talented group of students. It really limits how much we can apply these findings to a larger, more diverse student population. The great scores from the experts show the model has potential, but the student test doesn’t feel like it provides the solid proof to back up the big claims.
