In Figure 6b and 6c, SEM images show significantly smoother and more compact Zn deposits with the LH additive up to a plating capacity of 5 mAh cm². However, the claimed stability at ultra-high areal capacities (e.g., 24 mAh cm² with 87% DOD in Figure 5b) far exceeds this range. Was SEM characterization performed after cycling at such extreme conditions to confirm that dendrite suppression and surface uniformity persist? Without post-mortem imaging at those higher capacities, how can the long-term morphological stability be confidently validated?
