I would like to know whether the structural and compositional differences between GUV membranes and natural plant plasma membranes influenced the observed NLPPya-induced effects. For instance, the study mentions sterols and GIPCs as critical membrane components, but could variations in their distribution or interaction in native membranes alter NLPPya’s pore-forming efficiency or toxicity? Moreover, were controls such as GUVs without GIPCs used to confirm the specificity of NLPPya binding?
