Concerns about Figure 1A, which appears to contain a duplicated band, but also shares similarities to Figure 1 from Liau et al., J Gastrointest Surgery (2006), DOI: 10.1016/j.gassur.2006.06.011  Here are the two figures compared.

  • Pink boxes: the left two lanes in the HMGA1 blot share striking similarities (same as mentioned above in Comment 1).
  • Green boxes: the right lane in the HMGA1 blot looks remarkably similar to two lanes in the HMGA1 blot of Figure 1 of the Liau et al. (2006) paper
  • Blue boxes: the Lamin B blot looks remarkably similar to the two mirrored sets of lanes in the Lamin B blot of Figure 1 of the Liau et al. (2006) paper

       

 

Figure 2A also raises concerns.

  • Cyan boxes: the pIRES-MHGA1.1 and pIRES-HMGA1.2 panels appear to overlap.
