A major methodological concern is the reliance on a single baseline measurement of liver function to represent liver health over the entire follow-up period. Liver biomarkers can fluctuate significantly over time, and using only one time point may lead to exposure misclassification and weaken the validity of the observed associations with incident dementia. Why didn’t the authors consider repeated measures or time-varying models to better capture longitudinal liver function dynamics?
