In Figure 10, the Al2O3 and TiO2 cross-plot is used to infer terrigenous input and sedimentary conditions. However, the study does not explicitly address potential grain size effects or diagenetic alterations that might influence these geochemical proxies. Could the observed trends in TiO2 and Al2O3 be partially controlled by mineral sorting processes or post-depositional element remobilization? Have any grain size-normalized analyses been conducted to validate the provenance interpretations?
