Several critical issues require attention. The study exhibits selection bias, as the choice of cities is not adequately justified, and endogeneity concerns, given that causality is assumed rather than rigorously tested. Additionally, the Super Efficiency SBM model’s assumptions may not hold, potentially skewing the results, while the fixed-effects regression lacks sufficient robustness checks. I invite the authors to address these issues to strengthen the study’s validity and impact.
